How to read this table
The standard rate is the default VAT (or GST in some countries) charged on most goods and services. Reduced ratestypically apply to essentials like food, books, medicine, public transport, children's items or cultural services. A zero rate means the supply is taxable but at 0% — businesses can still reclaim input VAT.
